Can’t wait until Nov. 9th to change your current Facebook profile over to the new Facebook Timeline profile? Mashable.com has great directions on how to switch over now (apparently only you and others who have done this can see your new look though!) Thanks go out to my two amazing Cell Phone Cinema students last night, Tracy Samantha Schmidt and Matt Smith, for telling me how to do this. According to Tracy, who serves as Manager of the Educational Programs at Chicago Tribune Media Group, this new Facebook Timeline is going to replace the personal website. Once you take a look at it, you’ll see why. With a personal website, your viewers just look at it. With Facebook Timeline, you’ll have users and they will experience and interact with it. I just want to know how this is changing humanity on a social level. Will we all only be able to hold 3 second conversations or will be experience massive anxiety if we are unable to access our Facebook account for an hour? Where’s the data on this?
It’s a significant change. Take a look at my before and after photos:

Also, a great post on How to backdate Facebook updates to fill in your Facebook Timeline.
