20K Films is finishing gearing up for the Milk For Thought Latch on America Tour. We’re looking at 20+ hard drives to store, back up and ship home for safekeeping, 2 extra Zooms, extra 7D (for those annoying overheating issues and yes we have the firmware update-I’m paranoid). We’re a production crew of three for this road tour: Me (Laura Zinger) producing, directing and editing, the extremely talented, Logan M. Futej, shooting video, snapping some photos and editing, and Julian Suga, our completely amazing Production Assistant who will be shooting, editing, rolling sound, carrying lots of luggage and gear alongside the rest of us.
I’m also completely learning FCPX in the next 7 days before we leave so we can shoot and edit quickly without all of the annoying transcoding workflow, so 20K Films will be offering 2 day weekend workshops for FCPX every weekend in September (you’ll be able to start signing up August 1st) so I can share everything that I’ve learned on the road! And, 20K Films just hired a new 20K Classes instructor, Andrew Gleason, who will be teaching FCPX alongside of us. He’s smart. Super smart. Just like how we like our 20K Classes instructors.
Also looking at offering a two day intro workshop in Video Editing with Sony Vegas software in September, another round of HDSLR camera, audio and editing workshops at Calumet, an iPhone 4 video master class workshop, and hopefully a screenwriting class at our new offices as well!
Should be a really great and fun class lineup this fall when we get back, and Logan and I will have lots to share from editing and shooting on the road for 6 weeks!
